The crypto market drifted lower on July 16, with total market cap near $2.20 trillion after slipping 0.48%, as US-Iran tensions and fresh strikes near the Strait of Hormuz weighed on risk appetite. According to BeInCrypto, Tether froze about $131 million in USDT tied to Iran’s central bank on July 14, part of nearly $475 million frozen in three months, while Brent crude held near $81 and was up about 7% in five days. June PPI also cooled, but traders largely shrugged it off.
