Crypto investigator ZachXBT on Thursday criticized hardware wallets as unreliable for signing transactions or storing meaningful funds. According to CoinDesk, he said current hardware wallet options fall short on security and usability and are unsuitable for high-stakes use, while recommending a dedicated iPhone stripped down for wallet signing duties. He singled out Ledger as the worst offender, citing frequent Ledger Live updates that overhaul the UI and apps and can break basic functions.
