The CFTC suspended Kalshi's emergency rule that would have forcibly liquidated open sports event contracts held by certain Michigan residents. According to NS3.AI, Kalshi submitted the emergency rule on July 12 after an oral request from the Ingham County Circuit Court.
CFTC Chairman Michael Selig said a state government cannot force a designated contract market to violate its obligations.
