According to Jin10, Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the Strait of Hormuz is a pillar of Iran's national security and that Iran must maintain its existing arrangements in this vital waterway. In a speech to the Iranian people published on July 15, Ghalibaf said Iran is engaged in a complex struggle with the United States and must be prepared to fight at all times. He added that the U.S. strategy toward Iran has not changed, with goals that include not only weakening Iran but also creating divisions within the country. Therefore, Ghalibaf said, whether in conflict or negotiations, Iran's approach must be based on reality, national interests, and a long-term perspective.
