Galaxy Digital Research Head Says Great Distribution Phase of Old BTC Is Largely Over

According to BlockBeats On-chain Detection, on July 15, Galaxy Digital research head Alex Thorn stated that a significant amount of long-dormant Bitcoin was reactivated and moved on-chain during 2024 and 2025, a scale second only to 2017. He noted that the "Great Distribution" phase driven by the awakening of old BTC is now largely complete, and the amount of Bitcoin expected to be reactivated in 2026 will be less than half of that in 2025.
