According to 36Kr, citing fashion journalist Lauren Sherman, Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran plan to exit Uniqlo's U series, with the fall/winter 2026 collection likely their last. Fast Retailing has reduced its stake in Lemaire's namesake brand. Lemaire brand sales grew tenfold between 2019 and 2024 to exceed €100 million, and are projected to reach €160 million in 2026. The U series, launched in 2016, has been a key design lab for Uniqlo, with estimated annual retail sales of $900 million to $1 billion, accounting for about 5% of Uniqlo's 2025 fiscal year revenue. The potential departure comes as Uniqlo shifts its growth focus to Europe and North America. Both Lemaire and Fast Retailing declined to comment.
