South Korea Caps Online Stock Loans at 1 Billion Won per Borrower

South Korean regulators have capped online stock loans for a single borrower at 1 billion won. According to NS3.AI, data from the Financial Services Commission and Financial Supervisory Service showed that online investment-linked stock loan balances reached 898.3 billion won at the end of June. The Financial Supervisory Service will limit new monthly stock loans to 30% of the previous month's new linked loans starting August 16.
