China Eastern Airlines (0670) and China Southern Airlines (1055) issued profit warnings, according to Ming Pao.
China Eastern said it expects a net loss after tax of RMB 1.8 billion to RMB 2.4 billion for the first half ended June 30, wider than a net loss after tax of RMB 1.431 billion a year earlier. Excluding non-recurring gains and losses, it expects a net loss of RMB 2.7 billion to RMB 3.3 billion, compared with a net loss of RMB 1.759 billion in the same period last year.
