SK Hynix has started mass production shipments of 12-layer HBM4 to Nvidia, with the product entering a capacity ramp-up phase. According to Odaily, unlike previously supplied units classified as samples, this marks the first time HBM4 is being delivered to Nvidia in a final specification that has completed all quality certifications for Nvidia’s next-generation AI platform, Vera Rubin.
SK Hynix is expected to expand the scale of its HBM4 shipments starting in September this year, the report said, to meet Nvidia’s supply needs for high-end computing chips.
