All Japanese-flagged crude oil transport vessels affected by the Middle East situation have passed through the Strait of Hormuz and left the Persian Gulf, a person familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.
According to Jin10, Kyodo News reported that four other vessels linked to Japan were still stranded in the Persian Gulf.
Japan's Ministry of Defense said vessels linked to Japan include ships flying the Japanese flag as well as ships flying foreign flags. It said the foreign-flagged category includes ships carrying Japanese citizens, ships operated by Japanese shipping companies, or ships transporting cargo considered vital to the economic activities of the Japanese public.
