Samsung Electronics regained the top position in global smartphone shipments in the second quarter, surpassing U.S. rival Apple.
According to Jin10, industry data released on Tuesday from market research firm Counterpoint Research showed Samsung held a 24% share of global smartphone shipments from April to June, while Apple ranked second with a 20% share.
Counterpoint’s earlier data showed that in the first quarter, Apple led the global smartphone market with a 21% share, ahead of Samsung’s 20%.
Counterpoint attributed Samsung’s strong second-quarter performance to strong sales of the Galaxy S26 series, relatively moderate price adjustments in key markets such as India and the Middle East, and active promotional campaigns.
