Tempo has introduced a Receive Policies feature that lets accounts restrict which tokens and sender addresses they can receive at the protocol level. According to Foresight News, the optional setting allows accounts to configure accepted asset types, permitted sending addresses, and recovery permissions for rejected transfers.

If a transfer does not meet an account’s Receive Policies, the transaction can still be executed at the protocol level, but the funds are routed to a guardian mechanism and a receipt is generated. A designated recovery party then handles the recovery process.

The feature is intended for use cases including exchanges, custodians, payment channels, and deposit channels. Tempo said it can help prevent unrelated assets from entering accounts and turn rejected transfers into a managed recovery workflow rather than resulting in lost assets.
