Wells Fargo’s head of US large-cap bank research, Mike Mayo, said Citigroup is his top pick among the biggest US banks as investors brace for a heavy earnings week, according to Bloomberg.
Five of the six largest US banks — JPMorgan, Citi, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs — are set to report quarterly results within a few hours of each other. Mayo said he expects overall bank earnings to rise 15% to 20% year over year, citing strong Wall Street trading revenue and robust commercial loan growth.
