WTI and Brent crude futures posted gains of more than 9% at the close.
According to Jin10, as of the close on the 13th, the New York Mercantile Exchange light sweet crude oil futures contract for August delivery rose $6.73 to settle at $78.14 a barrel, up 9.42%.
The London Brent crude oil futures contract for September delivery rose $7.29 to settle at $83.30 a barrel, up 9.59%.
