Iran's foreign minister said charging a fee to guarantee the safe passage of merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz is justified, but a 20% charge would be excessive.
According to Jin10, the minister said U.S. President Donald Trump was completely right that any party providing security for commercial vessels to pass safely through the Strait of Hormuz should be compensated.
However, the minister added that a 20% fee is clearly too high and said Iran would charge a fair fee.
