A Saudi-led multinational coalition said its air defense systems intercepted a ballistic missile launched by Yemen's Houthi forces toward southern Saudi Arabia.
According to Jin10, earlier the same day, Sanaa International Airport in Yemen's capital, which is controlled by the Houthis, was hit by an airstrike.
The Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out the strike and vowed retaliation.
Yemen's government Ministry of Defense said the strike targeted Sanaa International Airport to prevent a senior Houthi delegation from returning home on an Iranian aircraft after attending a memorial ceremony for Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei, who it said had been killed.
