According to CNBC, Goldman Sachs analysts said a structural shortage of chip design engineers could create an incremental revenue opportunity for electronic design automation firms, estimating about $3.7 billion per year by 2030 as custom AI silicon demand grows. The bank raised its price target on Cadence Design Systems (CDNS) to $470 from $410, implying 26% upside from Friday’s close of $384.17, and kept a 12-month target of $600 for Synopsys (SNPS) while flagging risks including export restrictions, market share losses and fewer custom chip designs. Separately, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. reported June revenue of NT$ 442.68 billion, up 67.9% year over year and 6.2% from the prior month; first-half 2026 revenue totaled 2.4 trillion new Taiwan dollars ($74.99 billion), up 35.6% from the same period in 2025, and the stock rose 1% Monday.
