Declan Rice has become the second Arsenal player to be a doubt for England’s World Cup quarter-final against Norway after being kept away from the England squad as a precaution, with illness a concern in both camps, according to Yahoo Sports. Rice has missed training this week and has also been managing hamstring and back pain, while Norway captain Martin Odegaard has been ill with a cold-like virus that has swept through Norway’s camp ahead of the quarter-final on 11 July.
England were also dealt a suspension blow as Jarrel Quansah’s red-card ban was increased from one match to two, meaning he will miss the Norway quarter-final and would also miss a semi-final if England advance.
