Shares of bitcoin miners rose about 10 per cent on Wednesday, a day after US presidential candidate Donald Trump pledged to boost crypto mining operations in the country. Of the top 10 bitcoin miners by market capitalisation, TeraWulf (WULF) and Hut 8 Mining (Hut) saw the biggest gains, up 10.5 per cent and 10.07 per cent respectively on June 12, according to Google Finance.
Core Scientific (CORZ), Iris Energy (IREN), and Cipher Mining (CIFR) ranked among the top five with gains of 9.87%, 9.72%, and 8.94%, respectively.
CleanSpark (CLSK) and Riot Platforms (RIOT) also gained 8.15% and 6.5% respectively, but Marathon Digital (MARA), the largest bitcoin miner by market capitalization, gained only 2.4% on the day. (Cointelegraph)
Yesterday, Trump expressed the hope that all remaining bitcoins would be made in the United States, which would help the United States achieve energy dominance.
Affected by Trump's pledge to support bitcoin mining, the shares of the top ten mining companies rose by about 10%.
