Salvadoran referee Ivan Barton has been appointed to officiate the first 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-final between France and Spain at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, with a place in Sunday’s final at stake, according to Yahoo Sports. The losing team will play Saturday’s Bronze final in Miami against either England or Argentina.

Barton, 35, has worked seven matches at the 2026 World Cup and earlier in the tournament sent off Paraguay’s Miguel Almiron after he covered his mouth while speaking to Turkey’s Mert Müldür. The official has previously overseen several Concacaf Champions Cup finals and has never refereed a match involving France or Spain.
