Iran’s Foreign Ministry said a memorandum of understanding with the United States has “undoubtedly entered a crisis stage.” According to Jin10, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said Iran would not comply with the memorandum of understanding as long as the U.S. side continues to violate its commitments.
Baghaei also said Iran’s talks in Muscat with Oman focused only on the Strait of Hormuz and were not planned to cover other topics. He said Iran has been consulting with Oman to establish a mechanism to ensure the safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, but that goal was not achieved due to pressure faced by Oman.
