The Bank of Korea said the global semiconductor market remains in a supply shortage and expects the current artificial intelligence (AI)-driven “supercycle” to continue for some time.
According to Odaily, the central bank made the comments in a report released on Monday, pushing back against investor concerns that the chip cycle has already peaked.
In the report, the Bank of Korea said semiconductor demand has surged sharply due to investment in AI infrastructure, while the pace of supply expansion has been relatively slow. It added that there are no signs the semiconductor cycle is slowing.
