Martha Gimbel, executive director and cofounder of the Budget Lab at Yale University, said artificial intelligence is unlikely to offset the economic challenges posed by an aging population, according to Bloomberg.
Gimbel said the US is facing two major transitions at the same time, and argued AI may lift productivity in some areas, including by helping caregivers with physically demanding tasks. She also questioned whether consumers will accept automation in jobs where human interaction remains essential.
