Japan’s Princess Aiko to Visit Singapore in November for 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties

According to Lianhe Zaobao citing Kyodo News, Japan’s Imperial Household Agency said Princess Aiko, the daughter of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, will make an official visit to Singapore in November to mark the 60th anniversary of Japan-Singapore diplomatic ties. The 24-year-old is expected to pay a courtesy call on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and attend anniversary events, with the detailed itinerary still being coordinated. The trip will be Princess Aiko’s second official overseas visit aimed at promoting friendship and goodwill, after visiting Laos in November last year.
