An Iranian military spokesperson said Iran manages maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and criticized a U.S. effort to establish a route in the waterway.
According to NS3.AI, spokesperson Akraminia said a U.S. attempt to impose an unauthorized route in the southern Strait of Hormuz would violate the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Akraminia also said Iran is working with Oman on joint navigation arrangements.
