Microsoft recently purchased seven large gas turbines from GE Vernova to supply power for its data center in Texas, as AI-driven data center construction boosts demand for generation equipment, according to 36Kr. The report said a single turbine costs more than $250 million, yet demand for the complex equipment still far exceeds supply. U.S. investment research firm Melius Research estimated gas turbine prices have risen about 300% cumulatively over the past three years. GE Vernova shares have gained more than 70% over the past six months, and rivals including Caterpillar and Siemens have also posted rapid growth, the report said.
