SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung said on the evening of July 10 (U.S. Eastern time) that 2027 is expected to be the tightest-supply year in the memory industrys history, citing rising demand and capacity constraints. He said customers are seeking long-term supply agreements with SK Hynix, and that even after 2030 customer demand could still exceed the companys supply capacity despite efforts to expand production, according to 36Kr. Separately, a China-based industrial investment source familiar with South Korean memory makers said executives at major overseas memory companies are also watching capacity expansion progress at Chinese memory makers, and that ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) and Yangtze Memory Technologies Co. (YMTC) could become a key long-term variable for the memory market.
