Elon Musk said he was “clearly wrong” about Anthropic, calling it “obviously currently the leader in AI” after months of public criticism. According to BeInCrypto, Musk praised Anthropic’s Mythos and Fable models, said no company has released a system as good, and predicted “Mythos 2” would be ready soon.
Musk added he would “never cut off” Anthropic in a way that would hurt it badly, even as a competitor. The shift comes after Anthropic agreed in May 2026 to lease compute from SpaceXAI’s Colossus 1 near Memphis, paying roughly $1.25 billion monthly for over 220,000 Nvidia GPUs through May 2029, as SpaceXAI launched Grok 4.5 this week.
