Meta Chief Data Officer Says Agentic Commerce Is the "Next Tier of Business"

Meta Chief Data Officer Alex Schultz said agentic commerce could become the “next tier of business” for the company, according to CoinDesk, as Meta builds business agents and leans on stablecoins for payments. Schultz said Meta has “over a million weekly active businesses with Meta agents” and argued stablecoins are assumed inside Meta, while broader adoption is the harder challenge. He said Meta’s approach to financial services is partnership and integrating regulated third-party stablecoins, not issuing its own, after Libra/Diem was abandoned in 2022.
