Mikel Merino scored in the 88th minute after Belgium substitute goalkeeper Senne Lammens spilled a routine shot, lifting Spain to a 2-1 World Cup quarterfinal win over Belgium and into the semifinals. Spain will face France on Tuesday, according to Yahoo Sports.

Spain opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Fabian Ruiz finished a rebound after Thibaut Courtois saved Dani Olmo’s shot, but Belgium equalized in the 41st on a header by Charles De Ketelaere. Courtois left the match injured after being replaced by Lammens, while Belgium captain Youri Tielemans was scratched during warmups and Amadou Onana was already out with a torn knee ligament.
