FIFA unexpectedly released nearly 1,200 high-priced tickets for the World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, after its last-minute sales site had indicated the match was sold out. The site listed 1,178 Category 2 seats at $7,380 each across five top-deck sideline sections, and also offered 68 front Category 1 lower-deck tickets priced from $19,995 to $32,970, plus Trophy Lounge and Trophy Lounge+ hospitality packages at $34,500 and $32,500, according to Yahoo Sports.
Tickets were also available for Saturday’s quarterfinal between Argentina and Switzerland at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, priced from $1,600 to $3,995. On FIFA’s official marketplace, resale tickets for the final were listed from $7,440.50 up to $11,499,998.85.
