According to Axios, the United Democracy Project, a super PAC affiliated with AIPAC, has spent $865,000 on television ads backing Rep. Wesley Bell in Missouri’s 1st Congressional District Democratic primary, based on AdImpact tracking. Axios reported the New Democrat Coalition’s PAC has spent $500,000 and the Bell campaign $475,000 on ads, while former Rep. Cori Bush’s campaign has spent $30,000 and no outside groups have yet spent in support of her. Axios noted AIPAC spent more than $9 million against Bush in the last cycle, when she lost to Bell by roughly five percentage points; Bush told Axios voters in St. Louis are upset about outside money influencing the race, and an AIPAC spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.
