A person familiar with the matter denied a media report claiming ByteDance and ZTE's Nubia will launch and start selling a so-called "AI agent phone" during the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), saying the report was false, according to 36Kr. The source said the device will only be publicly displayed for the first time at the conference, and rejected claims that tens of thousands of units have been stocked ahead of sales.
