Ripple will launch XRPL EVM sidechains, using Axelar as a cross-chain protocol

XRPLedger, a blockchain network backed by payments firm Ripple, has revealed the official name of its upcoming sidechain, calling it the "XRPL EVM sidechain" and saying it will launch with Axelar as an exclusive bridge protocol. The interoperable platform Axelar will allow users to exchange their XRP for packaged XRP (eXRP), which will also be used as a native token for gas fees on the sidechain.
