According to CNBC, Rivian Automotive raised its 2026 delivery guidance range after stronger-than-expected second-quarter demand, while Lucid Group reported deliveries below Wall Street expectations and announced leadership changes under new CEO Silvio Napoli. Rivian said it now expects to deliver 65,000 to 70,000 vehicles this year, up from a prior forecast of 62,000 to 67,000, after producing 12,613 vehicles and delivering 12,194 in the second quarter; shares rose about 6% in early Thursday trading. Rivian said higher deliveries were driven by its electric delivery van and R1 products, and it began delivering its midsize R2 SUV during the quarter as it ramps production at its Normal, Illinois plant with annual capacity of 160,000 vehicles. Lucid said it produced 4,774 vehicles and delivered 3,953 in the second quarter, below FactSet’s 5,000-unit consensus, and said Chief Financial Officer Taoufiq Boussaid will depart after handing over to successor Alexander De Bock, formerly CFO of TI Automotive. Tesla reported 480,126 second-quarter vehicle deliveries, and said Model 3 and Model Y accounted for 467,762 of those deliveries.
