MiniMax founder and CEO Yan Junjie said he will stop taking any salary from the company starting immediately and continuing until MiniMax achieves artificial general intelligence (AGI).
According to ChainCatcher, Yan made the announcement in an internal letter to employees addressing recent market volatility and reiterating that the company’s long-term direction remains unchanged.
In the letter, Yan also said that over the next four years he will allocate shares equivalent to 4% of the company’s total equity to incentivize team members who remain with the company for the long term and contribute to value creation.
He added that he will set aside an additional 1% of the company’s equity to establish a dedicated fund to provide ongoing support for related open-source communities.
