Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call on July 9 to discuss the latest developments in the regional situation, according to Jiemian News. The two sides agreed on the need to stop military escalation and to pursue a peaceful resolution through political and diplomatic channels while taking into account the interests of all parties. They also said freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz should be safeguarded in line with international law to ensure smooth passage for commercial vessels and stable energy supplies.
