A new draft of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act could be released as soon as next week, with advocates aiming for Senate floor action as early as the week of July 20, according to CoinDesk, after Banking and Agriculture committee efforts were merged. The unified text is said to add more than 70 pages and put greater emphasis on consumer protections, but it still lacks bipartisan buy-in. A key unresolved issue is a Democratic push for ethics limits barring senior government officials, including the president, from maintaining business ties with the crypto sector. Other sticking points include federal preemption and filling SEC and CFTC roles.
