According to CNBC, Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, has officially been renamed Donald J. Trump International Airport, marking the first time an airport has been named after a sitting U.S. president. The Federal Aviation Administration said the change took effect Thursday, and the airport’s FAA locational identifier will switch from PBI to DJT, with the International Air Transport Association code change set for Aug. 18. United Airlines and Delta Air Lines began displaying the new DJT code on booking pages Thursday, while travelers can still search using PBI. The airport said the rebranding is expected to cost $5.5 million, with Florida appropriating $2.75 million and the remainder funded through the local Department of Airports’ operating budget and capital improvement program.
