New Hampshire’s Executive Council voted 3-2 to reject a proposed $100 million Bitcoin-backed municipal bond, ending a plan that supporters said would have been the world’s first of its kind.
According to NS3.AI, the proposal had already cleared Moody’s ratings process and was awaiting the council’s final approval before the bond could be issued.
The council’s decision stops the issuance of the Bitcoin-backed bond under the current plan.
