Jordan Sounds Alarms After Detecting Iranian Missiles in Its Airspace

According to Lianhe Zaobao citing Reuters, Xinhua and AFP, Jordan sounded air-raid alarms after detecting missiles launched by Iran in its airspace, and a government spokesperson said on July 9 that the Jordanian Armed Forces had moved to a high state of alert to respond to any threats to the kingdom’s security. Xinhua, citing Iranian media, reported that Iranian missiles flew over the city of Zarqa in Jordan and that the targets were U.S. military bases. Separately, AFP reported that Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense said at least one person was injured in Iran’s July 7 attack, and spokesperson Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said four missiles and 10 drones were “successfully intercepted and destroyed” at dawn.
