Bond demand increased in 2026 as investors shifted funds into fixed-income assets after years of steady stock-market performance, according to an analyst at Hermes Investment Management.

According to Jin10, analyst Gallo said strong U.S. corporate earnings and resilient economic growth boosted demand for U.S. corporate bonds.

Gallo added that demand for U.S. municipal bonds was also strong in the second quarter of 2026, pushing municipal bond yields lower, while U.S. Treasury yields rose.
