Oman told the United Nations’ shipping agency that it does not support imposing transit fees in the Strait of Hormuz, a move that could put the sultanate at odds with Iran, which is pushing to charge passing freighters for navigation.

Bloomberg posted on X, highlighting Oman’s position on the proposed fees.

The Strait of Hormuz is a key maritime route, and the dispute centers on whether ships transiting the waterway should be charged for navigation.
