ADB Cuts 2026 Growth Forecast for Developing Asia-Pacific to 4.9%

The Asian Development Bank said Middle East hostilities have caused energy market volatility and are weighing on Asia’s economic outlook more than previously expected, according to Jiemian News. In a supplementary report to its “Asian Development Outlook 2026” released on July 8, the ADB forecast developing Asia-Pacific economies will grow 4.9% in 2026, down 0.2 percentage points from its early-April projection, while keeping its 2027 growth forecast unchanged at 5.1%.
