Citrini analyst Jukan said some people asked for his view on an Evercore channel survey that reported multiple OEMs acknowledged placing component orders for the same project with both distributors and brokers due to extended delivery lead times.
According to Odaily, Evercore said that even if the three major DRAM makers try to reduce excess and duplicate bookings, it is not possible to eliminate them completely.
Jukan said it is highly irrational to generalize what happens in a small number of isolated channels to the entire market.
He also shared comments from Lynx on the same day regarding Meta’s memory procurement. Lynx said its survey indicates Meta is willing to buy memory and flash from major suppliers at spot prices.
Lynx said that unlike Apple, it expects Meta will not complain about high prices and expects Meta has already accounted for price increases in its capital expenditure plans.
