Sino Biopharmaceutical said it has licensed the overseas rights to its self-developed COPD drug candidate TQC3721 (a PDE3/4 inhibitor) to AstraZeneca for total consideration of up to $1.9 billion, marking the company’s second major business development deal this year, according to Jiemian News. As of 10:59 a.m. on July 9, 2026, the CSI Hong Kong Stock Connect Innovative Drug Index was up 1.22%, with Insilico Medicine rising 6.92%, WuXi Biologics up 4.71% and Sino Biopharmaceutical up 3.73%. Separately, data cited in the report showed that as of June 30, 2026, the index’s top 10 constituents accounted for 70.81% of its weight.
