Maple has released a governance proposal, MIP-021, to introduce a rules-based buyback mechanism tied to protocol revenue. According to Foresight News, the proposal outlines different SYRUP buyback rates based on monthly revenue levels.

Under the plan, Maple would use 10% of revenue to buy back SYRUP when monthly revenue is below $1.5 million. If monthly revenue is between $1.5 million and $2 million, the buyback allocation would rise to 20%, and it would increase to 30% when monthly revenue exceeds $2 million.

The proposal states that all buyback operations would be conducted publicly and transparently, and implementation would be decided through governance voting. The proposal is currently in the feedback stage, with voting set to begin on July 13.
