The Football Association of Ireland’s General Assembly endorsed a motion for the Republic of Ireland to proceed with its UEFA Nations League fixtures against Israel, passing 75-32 with three abstentions at an Extraordinary General Meeting at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, according to Yahoo Sports. Both matches later this year are scheduled for neutral venues, with Israel’s home game set for Debrecen, Hungary on 27 October and Ireland’s home match to be played behind closed doors in Backa Topola, Serbia on 4 October after UEFA approved an FAI request citing “operational issues” in staging the game in Dublin.
