National Bureau of Statistics: Consumer prices rose 0.3% year-on-year in May 2024

On June 12th, in May 2024, the national consumer price rose by 0.3% year-on-year. Among them, urban prices rose by 0.3%, rural prices rose by 0.4%; food prices fell by 2.0%, and non-food prices rose by 0.8%; consumer prices were flat, and service prices rose by 0.8%. On average from January to May, the national consumer price rose by 0.1% compared with the same period of the previous year. In May, the national consumer price fell by 0.1% month-on-month. Among them, urban prices fell by 0.1%, and rural areas fell by 0.1%; food prices were flat, and non-food prices fell by 0.2%; consumer prices fell by 0.1%, and service prices fell by 0.1%.
