Bahri Says Saudi VLCC Had Accident While Leaving Strait of Hormuz

Saudi Arabia’s National Shipping Co. (Bahri) said in a statement on July 8 that a Saudi very large crude carrier (VLCC) had an accident on July 7 while departing the Strait of Hormuz, according to Jiemian News. Bahri said all crew members were confirmed safe with no injuries reported, the vessel remained seaworthy, and the cargo was undamaged. Separately, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on July 7 it condemned Iran’s attacks on Saudi and Qatari vessels, saying the attacks threatened the safety of international navigation and global energy supplies.
